Welcome to the NMMEA Central District 6 Forms Page.  If you are new or are an old timer, let's review the rules.

  1. All auditions are to be recorded on cassette tapes in concert order.  (This makes it a lot easier to edit the auditions onto the master tapes we listen to.)

  2. Once the student is ready to play have them say their name and begin playing.  (The names will be edited out.)  Have them play the music in the order that it appears on the audition sheet.  Once the audition has begun the tape must be turned off or paused.  In the past there has been audible clicks in the tape and that student has been eliminated from consideration.  The audition must be straight through.  If there is an unforeseen interruption, start again or just continue and finish.

  3. Include a list of the students as they appear on the tape.  This helps with garbled names and with the correct spelling of the names.

  4. Exceptions - you will have to transpose the Baritone B.C. for your Baritone T.C. players.  Tympani students need to play a long roll on the large tympani and demonstrate the ability to tune to the notes on the audition.

Audition tapes must be in my hands by the date set at our fall meeting.  I will then edit the tapes into the band sections.   The auditions will be heard on at the date, time, and place set at our fall meeting.  Everyone is expected to be present at the auditions.

Music that has been received will be given out after the auditions.   If you cannot make it to the auditions the music will be mailed to you.

Send the tapes directly to my home address.  We all know what school mail is like.
