Los Alamos Public Schools are searching for a full-time or part-time orchestra teacher to join our team. This new position will share teaching, planning, administrative & clerical responsibilities with the two current orchestra teachers at the elementary (4 - 6th), middle school (7 - 8th) and high school (9 - 12th) levels. Occasional extracurricular activities (evening performances, Honor Orchestra hosting duties, trip planning and trip attendance etc) connected to the classes will require beyond contractual time attendance. Orchestras perform in and produce 3 concerts/year (2 for elementary), are often involved with a large all district spring performance, Honor Orchestra, MPA and All-State. The Los Alamos Public Schools Orchestras serve approximately 450 students from 4th-12th grades across seven school sites. The orchestras are active around the area and state, consistently sending the most students to both Honor Orchestra and All-State. The orchestras regularly receive superior ratings at MPA and regional Music in the Parks events.
